The Spyder ConvertableHere is the project that I have mentioned off and on. A holsterable Spyder side arm. It runs on a 12g and a spring feed that holds 10 paintballs. Loads consistantly and have not had any ball breaks. As of now, it shoots 10 paintballs per 12g at 250fps. All are stock items except the VA. It is a modified design that Phil Fink (S-74 from the Kingman forum) made for me. It also utilizes the Polecat Straight feed with a slight modification to hold a removeable magazine that is taken from a PT Extreme. It is quickly removeable so that you can carry several pre-loaded magazines. Some rework of the valve and the modified VA will produce more shots per 12g with the help of a spring kit. I had shown this to one of the techs at the Kingman Trailer at the IAO 2002. He was very impressed with it and will email me from time to time to see if I had fully completed the project. ![]()

The Polecat Straight feed. Notice the marker is setup for bottom line. The modified VA is removeable so that the typical VA can be put in place for a normal Spyder look. The feeds are completly interchangeable for a spring feed holstered marker. Or, a spring fed bottom line. To a direct feed bottom line or a direct feed the runs off the modified VA. Of course a drop forward can be added and low pressure parts installed for a LP marker. Converting between the two pictured setups took under 5-minutes to do. ![]()
Here are the parts that is involved in the Spyder convertable. That is not the end of this project. With the love I have with keeping stock class paintball alive, i am planning on making a pump conversion to this same Spyder for a limitless convertable. I currently have plans drawn up for the pump. I am just looking for a shop that will help me out with the machining. | |
